Fiber Overload

This weekend was the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, and let me just say for my second festival (and first one of substantial size) it was fantastic! I was glad the rain kept people away though, because the crowds were too much for me to handle as it was. I was very responsible and stayed within budget (which is difficult for me) and actually didn’t buy that much-but what I did buy was quality. I have no pictures, but here is a brief summary: 6 oz. of merino top coat roving in white with streaks of pale pink and blue, 1 oz of suri alpaca roving (a gift from the aunt-she bought a pound!) 600 yds DK weight alpaca yarn in black/charcoal, and my favorite purchase: a drop spindle! woo!

I also managed to get a picture of some celebs while I was there. Does that guy look familiar? It is Casey, of Ravelry fame!! and the redhead to the right of him is Mary-Heather. Ysolda Teague, and Jess were also there, but considering how sneaky this kinnearing was, I decided not to try for a more obvious one.
the wonderful Marie came with me to the festival. Here is a picture of her and I together in one of the barns.
I am still working on the sock-the heel is turned, and gussets are done. Now just to finish the foot. I am also working on a baby sweater for a coworker who is expecting in June, and a blanket that was supposed to be finished 3 years ago, and will now just be kept by me. :)

and, just for fun, here is a picture of one of the puppies I got to snuggle with this weekend!
